The company specializes in the application of modifying leading-edge MOTS technology to meet military and industrial computing performance and environmental challenges. Consulting is provided in a variety of areas including executive management, process development, innovation, coaching, and mentoring.
Services include strategic mapping, business development, market research, product line planning, design coaching, value-stream mapping, root-cause-analysis, lean manufacturing, workshop leadership, technical product demonstration, thermal management, vibration and shock engineering, humidity / salt-fog ruggedization, patent guidance, and environmental testing troubleshooting.

I prefer to work with the PM and engineering teams to assist in defining the problem and the constraints, identifying the most important requirements, providing viable options, and then assisting the team in execution when requested. I think of my clients as team members and partners.
I think it is important to understand what problem we are trying to solve. This usually means talking directly to your customer to find out what we are trying to accomplish and why. Let's work together to turn that problem into a solution by unraveling the project, establishing high level system objectives, applying some structured out-of-the-box thinking to unleash innovative power. We can characterize the risks, put a plan in place to address the unknowns, and execute a winning approach. I am not finished until your customer accepts the approach and your team is on the path to success. My job is to help you by driving increased value for your company and leaving your team with the confidence and know-how to execute. Strategic Leadership and Business Growth
Jim Shaw has been working in high performance electronics packaging since 1985. For 21 years he designed mission critical electronics and flight displays at Rockwell-Collins. For 18 years he was an executive visionary and industry pioneer at Crystal Group, Inc. Jim is the creator of the first rugged server. Jim holds a BSME from Iowa State and an MBA from the University of Iowa. He currently has 12 patents in the rugged electronics industry. Jim is the sole proprietor at 810eng and has worked on over 500 military and industrial programs over four decades.
